Spotlight: One Planet - Ours!

Plan to be in D.C. this summer? Interested in sustainable gardening and landscaping? Or in broader exploration of ways to incorporate green living into your home and community? (I'm guessing that holds true for most of us).

If so, make it a point to stop by the U.S. Botanical Gardens, whose "One Planet-- Ours! Sustainability for the 22nd Century" exhibit opens this Friday. Featuring forty organizations from around the country who are leading sustainability efforts, the exhibit highlights issues ranging from green gardens and roofs to sustainable schoolyards.

For those on the lookout for a good, green family outing this summer, time your visit for one of the U.S. Botanical Garden's Family Days, scheduled for June 21, July 19, August 16, and September 27. Participating organizations will host a wide variety of kid-friendly programs and activities with an environmental twist. Keep an eye out for the New American Dream table while you're there!
