Reducing Plastics Campaign

Help stop plastic pollution!

We are surrounded by plastic.

Whether it’s plastic water bottles, plastic grocery bags, or plastic food packaging, plastic seems to be inescapable:

  • The average American throws away approximately 185 pounds of plastic each year.
  • Annually, enough plastic is thrown out to circle the earth four times.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that 93% of surveyed Americans tested positive for BPA, a chemical contained in certain plastics.

The plastic epidemic has a serious negative impact not only on the health of our environment, but also on public health. Luckily, more communities and individuals are becoming interested in eliminating plastic pollution.
