2008 Presidential Candidate Questionnaire
Over the last decade, New American
Dream has observed a curious phenomenom: the "more of what matters" vision resonates with a large majority of Americans, yet few political leaders demonstrate the courage to challenge the "more is better" culture and economy. Then in 2007 we thought "what if we directly asked the presidential candidates to address these issues?"
It seemed worth a shot, so we solicited input from over 1,000 New Dream Community members, staff, and board in honing down a long list of important points to 12 questions that were sent to all declared candidates in early October 2007.
To date, we have received responses from John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich. We encourage you to read the responses, discuss them with friends and neighbors, and urge the remaining candidates to fill out the survey. The deadline might have passed but it's never too late to rebuild the American Dream!
