Why are safe cleaners important?

One out of every three cleaning chemicals used to clean schools in the United States is known to cause human health or environmental problems. Schools that use safe cleaners can have a significant impact on the student health and educational quality.

Safe, “green” cleaning products are effective, affordable, and easy to find. They work just like conventional, more toxic products but without the health dangers. Schools across the country are making the switch and improving student health, increasing student performance, decreasing environmental impacts, reducing liabilities, and even saving money.

Many states, like New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey, are taking this issue so seriously that they have decided to protect student health by passing state-wide legislation requiring all schools to use green cleaning products.
