HF Corn Syrup Free: Week 1

I AM LEGEND


After a week or so of deliberation and research, I committed to quitting. From this day forward I plan to end my addiction to high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Yep, that's right - I'm going high fructose corn syrup-free, or HFCSF. Once you start looking, you realize: it's in everything from fruit juice to salad dressing to Bummer.  That’s why I think this will be legendary.


Lunch: easy. I left without packing this morning, so I had to make a stop at the store today. Luckily, my first HFCSF shopping excursion was at a natural food store. Nothing I picked up had any conspiracy juice in it.

Dinner: easy. I made a pretty simple vegetable soup. I had to double check the bread because you just never know where HFCS will be lurking.


Midnight snack: not so easy. I saw a box of Teddy Grahams on the shelf and the little kid and in me squealed with delight. The eco-conscious adult in me read the ingredients and put them back on the shelf. Sigh…
