Get Cultured: Free Museum Day, Sept. 26

When was the last time you went out to partake of a little culture? This weekend there's no excuse for those living near a participating museum: Saturday, September 26th is Free Museum Day. A list of participating venues and a link to a printable coupon is available here.

Going to see some art is like stopping to smell the (Impressionist, Cubist, folk art) roses. It's something that you know is good for you, and that you'll enjoy if you just make time for it, but somehow we put life's less enjoyable responsibilities first. Spending some time in an exhibit, with or without a tour guide, is a great way to "take in" without "consuming." You may take away something from the experience, but the paintings are not used up in the process remaining fresh for hundreds more visitors. So make some time in your schedule this weekend to partake of art, the renewable resource.
