Europeans Have Their Own Climate Change Skeptics

Apparently not all Europeans are snooping into each other's garbage looking for recycling infractions. Some, like Czech president Vaclav Klaus don't believe in global warming, and even worse, like to take out their frustrations on everyone's favorite target, Al Gore.

I don’t think that there is any global warming, I don’t see the statistical data for that. I’m very sorry that some people like Al Gore are not ready to listen to the competing theories. I do listen to them.

When high-ranking politicians bring the environmental conversation back to square one, it holds everything back, and right at a point when the EU is examining its climate treaty. See the whole post from Red, Green and Blue.

On a related note, does Mr. Gore deserve to be the target of so much anti-climate change ire? When reading this article about Cincinnati suggesting people eat less meat, I was amazed at the bile discharged upon Al Gore in the comments section. It made me think of Galileo and others who proposed scientific theories ahead of their time, and were roundly criticized for it. The problem is, the map of the cosmos was quietly reorganized over time, whereas we are compelled to act now to stop climate change.
