The Collaborative Consumption Hub has posted an extensive list of more than 1,000 examples of "collaborative consumption" from all corners of the world.
The term collaborative consumption is used to describe an economic model based on sharing, swapping, bartering, trading, or renting access to products as opposed to ownership.

I have personally found that renting textbooks from collegebookrenter.com really saves students money! They have wonderful customer service and the best prices!
