We’re a small organization with a huge mission. Fortunately, we won’t have to achieve it alone. We are working directly with many groups and individuals to bring us closer to our shared vision of a more just and sustainable world. Read on to hear some examples of our partnerships.
Carbon Conscious Consumer
Our Carbon Conscious Consumer (C3) campaign challenged individuals to establish climate–friendly daily habits and inspire their friends to do the same. A number of companies and institutions—from the Global Footprint Network to the US Environmental Protection Agency— helped us promote the campaign to their customers and members. In conjunction with its “Profits for the Planet” program, Stonyfield Farm even distributed 20 million yogurt lids featuring New American Dream!
Responsible Purchasing Network
Our Responsible Purchasing Network (RPN) is a membership organization comprised of leading public and private institutions committed to responsible purchasing. The network has over 120 members, including 10 state agencies and more than two dozen municipalities. RPN provides technical assistance and coordination to allow these institutions to share resources and develop policies, practices, and specifications based on highly credible and cutting edge standards. We worked closely with the State of Wisconsin to develop a long-term contract for 180,000 megawatt hours of renewable energy—at that time the largest ever state procurement of renewable energy.

Turn the Tide
Our Turn the Tide program encourages Americans to take nine simple personal steps that have added up to cut carbon dioxide emissions by millions of pounds while saving hundreds of millions of gallons of water and other natural resources. More than 100 local and national organizations, from the Worldwatch Institute to the National Aquarium, are participating in the program.
