New American Dream's Website was selected as a prestigious W³ Silver Winner in in the Charitable Organizations category. The Website was chosen out of a pool of of 2,300 entries from top agencies and firms worldwide.

September 14th - New Coalition Aims to Stop BusRadio and Channel One
Children’s advocates sent letters today to the 100 leading national advertisers and the top 50 advertising agencies and emails to every school superintendent in Massachusetts, asking them “not to allow BusRadio or Channel One to operate in your school.”
The letters and emails are the part of a new campaign to remove BusRadio and Channel One from every school in the United States.

September 10th - Film on Motherhood Features New Dream
Working mothers face a pervasive bias in hiring, wages, and working conditions — simply for having children. This discrepancy is explored in depth in the new film The Motherhood Manifesto, a documentary based on a book with the same title by MoveOn.org co-founder Joan Blades and journalist Kristin Rowe-Finkbeiner. The film will be released by Brave New Films this fall and actively promoted by groups such as MoveOn.org and Moms Rising through a campaign of house parties. The film prominently features New American Dream Acting Director and working mom Monique Tilford speaking on New American Dream’s family-friendly maternity and paternity benefits. September 5th - EPEAT Shifts Billions to Better Electronics
New American Dream played a leading role in advising the EPA on a multi-stakeholder process that resulted in new guidelines for purchasers wishing to buy environmentally superior computer equipment. On July 25, the Responsible Purchasing Network (RPN) hosted a teleconference on Purchasing Environmentally and Socially Responsible Computers. Over 120 people from federal, state, and local government; schools and universities; private companies; and nonprofits joined the call. The main purpose of the call was to promote the Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT), a new environmental standard for computers designed to help institutions identify the greenest electronics available. EPEAT, which RPN helped to develop, was officially launched on July 24, when its online database of registered products went live. To date, 69 products from four manufacturers have been certified under the new standards. While the EPEAT guidelines were just officially released, they have already leveraged nearly 32 billion dollars of commitments to buy greener computers from U.S. government agencies.
